NASCAR has laid down a series of penalties and fines stemming from various races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and its surrounding venues last weekend. The disclosure made on Wednesday comes with some specific financial repercussions for team members but notably leaves drivers of the Brickyard 400 untarnished.

During the Xfinity Series' Pennzoil 250, Andy Street, the crew chief for the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, encountered a setback with a lug nut issue that was not safe or secure, resulting in a $5,000 fine. This isn't a new scenario for Street, who faced a similar penalty last month at Sonoma and earlier at Charlotte, where driver Austin Hill was also fined and points were deducted for an unrelated incident.

In another series of penalties from the weekend, Blake Bainbridge and Tyler Young, crew chiefs for the No. 43 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet and the No. 46 Young's Motorsports Chevrolet respectively, were each fined $2,500. These fines were also for unsecured lug nuts discovered after the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series TSport 200 held at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Interestingly, the main event of the weekend, the Brickyard 400 at the prestigious Indianapolis Motor Speedway saw no penalties issued. The event, integral to the NASCAR schedule, was conducted without any post-race punitive measures, which is a notable divergence from the other races of the weekend.
